What's actually happening
Your nervous system is stuck in a loop
Stress is a response, not a personality trait. Depression is a state, not an identity. Both are patterns that your unconscious mind has learned to run, often as protection, often as adaptation to circumstances that may no longer apply.
The problem is that once these patterns are established, they become self-reinforcing. Your nervous system gets stuck in threat mode. Your unconscious keeps scanning for problems. Your body stays in a state of low-level emergency even when there is no emergency.
Clinical hypnotherapy and NLP work directly with the unconscious patterns driving the stress response and low mood. Not by suppressing them. By changing the underlying programs so the nervous system can actually settle.
